Service: Game design, writing, promotion, crowdfunding and project management
For: Ada Press Games (me!)
Project: The Frankenstein Society Meeting Handbook
Scope: An approxmiately 20-page solo ‘zine game for ZineQuest
I created created a social/party game based on the idea of being ‘auter scientists’ doing exciting things in the world of cutting, stitching, and imbusing with new life. Should your time in the society go well and you could even create the monster that kills god and lives inside its corpse!
But before that you’ll have to avoid dying of embarrassment when you realise someone else in the society has made a creature that could easily eat yours.
It’s a silly party game that can lead to some weird stuff which can be converted to MÖRK BORG, Troika!, D&D, or Into The Odd and used in other games.
It also has a solo mode which uses ‘absent associates’ (i.e. bots) to be your monsterous penpal. I think it’s important that pretty much every game should come with a solo mode, if only so that people can work out how to play it by themselves – especially if it’s their first game of this type. We asked for £200 from the campaign and got £1,018.
At the time of writing it’s yet to be delivered, but that’s because of ‘having a child three weeks ealier than expected’ and other inventory management matters.
